Some people think that humans are ultimate in organic design, and yet this is very ethno-centric and well it simply is not so. Sure humans are well designed, who can deny it, they are at their perceived top of the food chain, well that is to say wherever lions, poisonous snakes, deadly spiders, sharks, squids, tigers and polar bears do not live.

In reality, just because humans are able to speak and communicate they believe that they are god’s gift to the world or rather the world is god’s gift to them? Outrageous when you think about it. Animals, insects and birds also have language, but most humans are too stupid to understand it. May I suggest some reading material for you?

According to Merriam Webster, a dictionary is “a reference source containing words usually alphabetically arranged along with information about their forms, pronunciations, functions, etymologies, meanings, and syntactical and idiomatic uses”.

The word “dictionary” comes from the Latin “diction”, meaning “word”. Unsurprisingly, the first dictionary was written in Latin. It is entitled “On the meaning of words” and was compiled by Verrius Flaccus during the reign of the emperor Augustus.

The first English dictionary was compiled at the beginning of the seventeenth century and its creation is attributed by historians to Robert Cawdry.
The most complete dictionary of the English language is the Oxford English Dictionary which was first published in 1860 and, it has been periodically updated and enriched ever since.

“Defiant Child?” trumpets the half-page ad in my weekend newspaper’s magazine section, offering help to change your kid’s attitude and take back control of your family.

I had a defiant child once. I overheard her having a telephone conversation with her best friend. It went something like this: “When they say ‘no’, you should say ‘why not?’ When they tell you, you should say, ‘that’s not a good reason.’”

A global revolution is taking place in education and training. It is driven by the changing nature of society, the realities of the information age, new global partnerships and an awareness of the need for equal distribution of educational opportunities.

Information and communication technology is central to this global revolution. Digital media has revolutionized the information society. These advances in information and communication technology have dramatically changed the learning and teaching process, and have expanded new learning opportunities and access to educational resources beyond those traditionally available.
