Irregular verbs, or rather the learning of irregular verbs, cause anxiety to many language students, that can be countered by using a positive mental approach. This article provides a method for achieving the positive mental approach required to relieve students’ stress.

Why do language students have the wrong mindset about Irregular Verbs?
Irregular Verbs are more often than not the most difficult part of any language to learn, but why?
The common belief amongst language students of all languages is that irregular verbs do not follow patterns like the regular verbs, therefore making them very difficult to learn and master.
The truth is, that when it comes down to it, the problem lies with a student’s often misguided concerns regarding the potential difficulty of learning the irregularity of a verb, the actual task is actually no more difficult than learning the conjugations of a regular verb.

There are many reasons why we might find ourselves unable to say no to requests- anxiety, a sense of obligation, wanting to be liked, wanting to be useful or to avoid confrontation.  After all, it may mean a lost opportunity or bad feelings, personally or professionally.  But if you say yes too often, you may wind up with too much on your plate to complete everything successfully.

When Our Body Stress (Fight or Flight) Response Goes Horribly Wrong. The fight or flight response or reaction is something is every one of us have. Scientifically, the fight or flight response is the built in automatic reaction (or stress response) of our body that prepares us to fight or flee when facing a perceived imminent attack or threat to our survival.

The fight or flight response was first discovered and described by a great Harvard physiologist called Walter Cannon. His theory claims that this response is one that is hard wired into our brains; a genetic system created to provide a safeguard for us from any bodily harm. The portion of our brain called the hypothalamus is responsible for initiating the electric signals and chemicals release into our body that stimulates this response.

Stress has become a normal part of a person’s life. Almost everyone feels stressed out at one point in their lives. There are several reasons why many people experience stress. These reasons maybe caused by external or internal factors. The most common causes are health problems, emotional troubles, relationship woes, work, conflicts and lifestyle changes. The key is not letting stress take control.

Stress can be relieved in a number of ways. One way is by expressing how you feel. You can choose to sit down with a friend and talk. It is a well-known fact that crying or laughing can easily help relive tension and anxiety. Another way is by distracting yourself through activities such as listening to music, meditating and even having a laugh.

What happens to you when you feel anxious? You may find that you are having heart palpitations, sweaty palms, feel flushed, or are suffering from racing thoughts. You may even think that you are having a heart attack if the anxiety is overwhelming. Many people in my practice ask me how to stop that seemingly un-ending road of fear and panic. It seems as though once you start on that road, it is difficult to pull off it.
